Eligibility Overview – Getting Started
1. The Christopher Douglas Hidden Angels Sensoriums / MSE Facilities
The Christopher Douglas Foundation accepts letters of inquiry from tax-exempt, charitable organizations, schools, communities and non-profit organizations wishing to establish Multi Sensory Environments in the area of education, therapy and/or recreations for individuals with developmental disabilities that may be cognitive and/or physically impaired or with emotional behavioral impairments.
Step 1: Submit an online letter of inquiry (LOI)
If your project meets involve implementing a MSE, we encourage you to submit a letter of inquiry using the format under Step 1. This form requests basic information about your organization and project.

We will review each LOI carefully, and often request an interview and/or visit to the applicant’s organization
Step 2: Submit a full proposal (by invitation only).
If your LOI is accepted, you will be notified by program staff and an interview arranged with the appropriate individuals.
If a large project or a research project you may be asked to submit a grant proposal for further review. At that time, we will provide the necessary information for you to complete a proposal. A request for a full proposal does not guarantee funding.

We will review each proposal carefully, and often request a visit to the applicant’s organization. In addition to determining whether your proposal meets the foundation’s priorities, staff will assess the feasibility and sustainability of the proposal. If your proposal satisfies our evaluation criteria, you will be notified of acceptance and the next steps in the process will be discussed.
2. Christopher Douglas Hidden Angel Scholars
The Foundation accepts letters of inquiry from students, graduate and Post-graduate students committed to addressing problems related to the care and health of individuals with developmental disabilities and devoted to improving the life of individuals with developmental disabilities.

3. Christopher Douglas Hidden Angel Research
The Foundation accepts letters of inquiry for research on the effects of MSE on individuals with cognitive, physical and/or emotional impairments.
